Friday Night Seminar

Meet local fishermen familiar with Hebgen Lake, including nationally ranked ice fishermen. A Social Hour and introductory information for people new to ice fishing will start at 5 pm with the Pro-Staff speakers starting at 7 pm at West Yellowstone Holiday Inn (315 Yellowstone Avenue). The seminar will be followed by dinner discussions in nearby restaurant/tavern locations with Pro-Staff members and local tournament fishermen. The free Seminar and group discussions, which are open to the public, are geared toward educating fishers to the world of tournament ice fishing and the best products in the industry.

These group tutorials will include specific techniques on how to catch fish during a tournament. The groups will be invited to pre-fish on Hebgen Lake at 8:00am Saturday morning, where the Pro Staff and Rocky Mountain Product Fair exhibitors will be demonstrating their fishing techniques equipment used to compete in tournaments.

CONTINUING THIS YEAR: The Rocky Mountain Ice Fishing Product Fair, featuring national manufacturers and regional suppliers, will be set up at the Holiday Inn Conference Center for both Friday and Saturday Nights.

Pre-fishing and Ice Fishing Equipment Demonstrations

Starting around 8:00 am, Pro-Staff and representatives from ice fishing product companies will be demonstrating the latest techniques and equipment on Hebgen Lake. Meet them at the Kirkwood Marina, where you can try out the newest ways to catch fish through the ice. They will also have products available for sale so you can use what works best for you in the tournament on Sunday!

Saturday Afternoon Kids Ice Camp

The Kids Ice Camp is held at the Kirkwood Resort & Marina. : There will be two different starting times. The first group begins at 10:00 AM with classroom instruction and demonstration of ice fishing equipment, techniques, as well as safety, conservation and environmental stewardship. Then, everyone heads out onto the ice on-ice fishing tutorials delivered by experienced, certified NAIFC Pro-Staff instructors. A hot dog lunch will be served after on-ice demo’s and practice. Before leaving, all kids who participate will receive a complimentary ice rod and tackle. The second group will start with the hot dog lunch at 12:15, then head into the classroom at 12:30 PM, followed by the on-ice experience. Make sure to dress warmly including waterproof footwear for this outside event. Each youth who participates will be given equipment for future ice fishing adventures. Parents must accompany their kids during this event. It is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather.

Saturday Night Mandatory Rules Meeting

Registration for the Tournament runs from 4:30-6:45 pm at the Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone, where the Social Hour begins at 5:00 pm, including a complimentary dinner for all registered team members with cash bar. The Rules Meeting, which is mandatory for at least one member of each team, starts at 7 pm. At the Rules Meeting, the exact starting time for the contest the following morning will be announced.

Sunday Morning NAIFC Tournament

The Check-in and Contest starts shortly after daylight with the exact starting time announced at the mandatory Rules Meeting the night before. Teams go out on the ice on Hebgen Lake from Kirkwood Resort & Marina in the order of their registration. Fishing continues until 1:05 pm, when all teams must be off the ice for the Weigh-in.

Sunday Indoor Weigh-In and Awards

Weigh-in starts at 2:30 pm at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in West Yellowstone. Tournament winners will be announced and awarded their cash prizes immediately following the weigh-in. Cash bar and food will be served, along with a fish cleaning contest and other fun.
