Next Stop… Boom Lake
By Mike McNett | November 8th, 2008It’s November and time for ice fishing. The schedule is complete with Rhinelander securing the 11 January 2009 date to take place on Crescent Lake with the launch out of Crescent Lake Bible Camp.
The flyers and posters are currently under construction and will be ready to send out by next week. The file will be available for printing off of the web or NAIFC will send out flyers directly to you. Let me know if you can hand out flyers in your community so I can keep a log of the flyers and their locations. It’s time to start calling your local newspaper sports writers, local TV stations and radio stations to get the word out about the tournaments. Any of the current Press Releases about the tournaments is a great way to make first contact with the local media.
Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce mailed out the welcome packets on Friday. Originally the Championship reserve lakes for Boom were Crescent Lake and Lake Julia. Lake Thompson is the back-up lake if there is insufficient ice on Boom. If you venture on to the ice before the NAIFC staff gets to Rhinelender please be aware that the flowage is on the left of the launch and ice in this area may not be stable. Take a buddy with you and spud your way out on the ice. SAFETY FIRST!
If you participated in an NAIFC event last year and Kathy has yet to call you for the first NAIFC Tour Championship then give her a call (320.252.0428) and reserve a seat. We still have 16 openings available. You are not going to want to miss this one.
