There are a lot of exciting things to talk about for the upcoming NAIFC season.  By now, all of you know that we will have adventure media following the teams during the tournaments for an all-new “Ice Men” reality TV series.  I can’t tell you enough how important this is for our sport.  Not only will we have ice fishing reality style on TV for the first time in the ice belt; the show will also air in 49 of the 50 states. How cool is it that people in California can watch us while ice fishing?  We will use the show to help promote the sponsors who make it possible for us to continue to compete and also to educate the world on the how and why we find ice fishing the best sport life has to offer.

One of the three dates remaining is now officially on the schedule.  March 6-8 we will be fishing on Bomoseen Lake in Vermont.  You want to talk about exciting, just talk to the man who made it possible, Shawn Hayes.  This guy is about ready to come out of his skin.  He is confident that the largest weight of fish EVER will come to the scales.  Shawn already has the area fishers and business buzzing with anticipation.  The final two dates are very close to signing and will be announced before the month is over.

A long standing relationship with Strike Master and Clam Corporation has been renewed with the NAIFC Tournament Series.  I would like to personally thank Randy and Ray at Strike Master and Paul and Mark from Clam Corporation for sponsoring the tournaments.  Clam Corporation is also sponsoring the “Team of The Year” title.  Clam and Strike Master are donating prize give-away for the events.  Gerbing’s heated clothing is a product sponsor and will be awarding two new pairs of heated mitts to the “Hot Hands” in each of the tournaments.  Adam Carthew at Arctic Fisherman will also be a product sponsor and award the coveted “WOOD” for the first three teams and also give away tip ups in each tournament.

A special announcement for the USA Ice Team 3rd Annual Pig Roast: Doug Bussian and the Lost Lake Preservation Club is hosting the Pig Roast in Beaver Dam WI on 11 October at 11a.m.  Mike “Smitty” Smith plans on stopping by with the Ice Team Trailer and the Argo’s will be there for rides for the kids.  There will be lots of fun, food and prizes.  If you can’t make it but want to purchase some raffle tickets please contact Doug.

Many more are exciting announcements to come…
